Frequently Asked Questions
How do I install it?
Installation is quick and easy with our 3-minute installation guide.
It doesn't fit! What do I do?
Filterbaby fits all standard showers (1/2" NPT threaded.)
In the unlikely event that you have a shower that doesn't fit Filterbaby, contact customer service at help@filterbaby.com for assistance.
My Filterbaby is leaking!
Leaks during or shortly after installation are typically due to improper installation.
For the best assistance and video examples, watch the 3-minute installation video above for more information.
Here are common causes for leaks and how to solve them:
Missing Silicone Ring: The top of the Filterbaby Shower Filter has a black silicone ring pre-loaded into it. If it is missing, check the tip of the shower arm and the box for the ring. If you're unable to find it, email help@filterbaby.com for assistance.
Missing Plumber's Tape: For leak-proof installation, you should have plumber's tape on your shower arm and the bottom tip of your Filterbaby (where your shower head is installed on the shower filter.) Wrap the plumber's tape 2-3 around the outside threads before screwing the filter onto the shower arm and your shower head onto the shower filter.
Loose Filter Housing Cap: Check the filter housing cap where you change the filter refill. The housing cap is located at the bottom of your shower filter.

Why is there a major decline in water pressure?
Some showers do experience a moderate drop in water pressure as a result of Filterbaby's powerful filtration system.
If you experience an immediate or sudden drop in water pressure, we've got you covered.
Little to no water pressure immediately after installation?
Sticker stuck inside: The top of your Filterbaby has a clear sticker on it that must be removed before installation. Remove your Filterbaby from your shower arm and check the top of the filter and the inside of the shower arm for the sticker.
Refill Installation Issue: Check your refill installation inside the filter housing. Open the filter housing cap and check to ensure that the refill inserted onto the housing cap correctly.
Dropping water pressure after 30 days or less?
Excessively dirty water / highly turbid water: If your water is excessively dirty with physical contaminants or is highly turbid, your filter refill is working overtime to capture up to 99.9% of physical contaminants as small as 0.0001mm! Open your filter refill and take a look inside. If your filter is dirty, you can rinse it under cold water to expand the filter's life. Reach out to help@filterbaby.com for assistance and personalized advice on the best refill schedule for your water.
Dropping water pressure after 30-90 days?
You need more frequent refill changes: Though most users only need to change their refill every 90 days, many areas with highly contaminated water need more frequent filter refill replacement. Reach out to help@filterbaby.com for assistance and personalized advice on the best refill schedule for your water.
Normal filter lifecycle: If you experience a consist decline in water pressure, your Filterbaby is working as intended. Over time, the water pressure may be slightly reduced as your Filterbaby's refill traps more and more contaminants. That's why is is critical yo replace your filter refill every 60-90 days at minimum.
How do I change the refill?
Your refill needs to be changed every 60-90 days. You can find our step-by-step video here.
