The best thing we can filter out is waste.
What if taking care of your skin and taking care of the planet were the same decision?
The objects you use most often should be the best things you own. That includes how they're made.
Most shower filters are plastic housings with plastic-encased cartridges. Every few months, the whole thing gets thrown away — shell and all. Millions of households, millions of cartridges, all unnecessary plastic.
What if the housing lasted for years? What if refills used 80% less plastic?* What if the housing wasn't plastic at all?
So that's what we built.
Made For Your Skin & Hair. Built To Last.
How sustainability is built into every filter we make.
Skincare Faucet Filter
Saves up to 25% of water on both filtered and tap modes thanks to our built-in water limiter and spray-style stream — without losing pressure.** One toggle. Two modes. Less water down the drain either way.
The spray stream distributes flow across a wider area, increasing effective pressure while using less water. It doesn't feel like less water.
Pro Series Titanium Aluminum Shower Filter
100% titanium + aluminum housing. No plastic shell. Most shower filters are enclosed in plastic — with hot water, plastic can degrade and leach microplastics into the water you're trying to clean. Ours doesn't.
Aluminum is infinitely recyclable — melted down and reformed without losing quality. Built to last for years, not months.
On refills: we stripped the bulky plastic cartridge shell. Minimal caps at top and bottom only. Up to 80% less plastic by weight.*
Showerhead Pro
All-in-one filtered showerhead with the same sustainable refill design — up to 80% less plastic by weight per cartridge.* No bulky shell. Just the filter media and minimal caps.
Zero calcium sulfite. Removes up to 99.9% of chlorine, chloramine, and contaminants as small as 0.000001mm.†
Where We're Going
We're researching filter media that can be composted or recycled at end-of-life. We haven't solved it yet — materials are chosen for performance first, and current recycling infrastructure doesn't support them. But we're working on it.
We're scrutinizing every component in our packaging for further plastic reduction. Does it need to be there?
We're exploring longer-life formulations that extend replacement cycles. Our Pro Series already holds 90%+ chlorine removal after 10,000L.† We want to push that further.
No offsets. No vague pledges. We'll update this page as we make progress. Not before.
Our No-Compromises Sustainability Promises. We don't settle. And neither should you.
Less plastic by design
We stripped the cartridge shells the rest of the industry accepts as normal. Up to 80% less plastic by weight per refill.*
Built to last, not to landfill
Pro Series housing is 100% titanium + aluminum. Resists oxidation, corrosion, and wear. Reusable for years. Plastic degrades. Metal doesn't.
Performance without tradeoffs
Our Pro Series removes up to 99.9% of chlorine with a metal housing and minimal-plastic refills.† That's not a compromise — it's better engineering.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Pro Series Titanium Aluminum housing be recycled?
Yes. Both metals are infinitely recyclable — melted down and repurposed without losing structural integrity. Unlike plastic, which degrades with each cycle. It's a long-term investment, not a disposable shell.
Are the filter refill caps recyclable?
Yes. The caps are ABS (Type 7), widely accepted by municipal recycling programs — check with your local provider as facilities vary. We use ABS only where structurally necessary for the seal. That's it.
What is the filter media made of — and what happens to it at end of life?
Dual-stage system: Advanced Activated Carbon Fiber and a Japanese Premium Ultra Filter (Polyethylene Membrane), trapping contaminants as small as 0.00001mm.†
The media isn't recyclable — it's saturated with the pollutants it captured. That's the point: those toxins are permanently removed from your water and your skin. It's a one-way trip for the contaminants you don't want on your skin.
What's the flow rate of the Skincare Faucet Filter?
Optimized at 1.6–2.0 L/min. Pressurized, refreshing stream ideal for skincare — while reducing waste compared to a standard unfiltered faucet flowing at a much higher, less controlled rate.**
Why do other shower filters use calcium sulfite?
Because it's cheap and tests well initially. But sulfites are recognized skin irritants — named Allergen of the Year 2024 by the American Contact Dermatitis Society. Effectiveness also drops off fast. We use premium, skin-safe filtration mediums that deliver consistent results over the full life of the filter. That's why we never use calcium sulfite. Ever.
Other shower filters have bigger cartridges that go to landfill. Do yours?
Most filter refills end up in landfill due to trapped contaminants — ours included. The difference is volume. By stripping the plastic casing, we've reduced the total waste mass per cycle. Less material in, less material out.*
* Up to 80% less plastic by weight compared to other shower filters.
** Up to 25% of water saved compared to traditional bathroom faucets with an aerator.
† Filterbaby Skincare Faucet Filter removes up to 99% of chlorine, chloramine, certain heavy metals, and contaminants as small as 0.000001mm. Filterbaby Pro Shower Filters remove up to 99% of chlorine, chloramine, certain heavy metals, and contaminants as small as 0.00001mm. The Filterbaby Pro Shower Filters continue to remove up to 98.9% of chlorine after 10,000L. When used and replaced as directed. ±6% efficacy fluctuation from lab certified testing.
